Sunday’s guest speaker, Phil McAfee, shared his experiences doing mission work in Brazil and Angola.
He has been in ministry 47 years and recently turned over weekly preaching duties so he could teach at the Bible College and counsel.
McAfee talked about the story of Jonah and how Jonah didn’t preach a sugar-coated watered-down version of God’s love, but he preached a message of repentance to the Ninevites who then humbled themselves before God.
Larry Wittmer gave the communion meditation on how the song “To the Table” says everything that needs to be said about communion. Christ became completely broken for us and willingly shed His blood so our sins could be forgiven.
Brant and Danelle McGhee led the music accompanied by Jake Riebel and Speed Elsasser. Ben Prasko was on keyboard and Ethan Prasko on percussion. Songs included “Awesome God,” “My Redeemer Lives,” and “To the Table.”
Next weekend the women will be attending an event at Ozark Christian College. The men will enjoy fellowship at the Humboldt races.
The Made Anew Thrift store will be part of the citywide garage sale in Colony Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25.
