The Elsmore Alumni Association met on Saturday, May 23, at the Elsmore Community Building.
Sixty alumni and 38 guests attended the banquet. This year’s theme was “Those Were the Days.” The alumni ranged from the class of 1947 to the class of 1987.
The following were recognized for having multi-generations attending the dinner: Loraine Price family (four generations); Earl Carlson family, Hellen Boler Mercing Welch family, Jim and Janice Johnson Fewins family, and Lynn Jackson Wray family (all with three generations); and Joan Johnson Wolfe family, Dewayne Ard family, Larry Laver family, and Jennifer Jackson Jackman family (all with two generations).
THE CLASSES of 1966 and 1976 were recognized along with three alumni from the class of 1926: William Daniels, whose two granddaughters were in attendance; Bert Fewins with seven children, one granddaughter, and one great-grandson in attendance; and Earl Ludlum, the KOAM television weatherman for 23 years, who also had relatives in attendance.
The following were recognized as 2026 Elsmore Alumni scholarship recipients: Zachary Allee, Abby Altic, Matthew Boyle, Jr., Emily Cunningham, Madison Cunningham, Morgan Gillham, Bryce Haislett, Jarrett Herrmann, Kenton Jackson, Conner Mispagel, Logan Mispagel, Payton Scharff, Ty Scharff, Todd Stevenson, Brayden Yoder, Kenleigh Westhoff, and Marlee Westhoff.
Ten alumni and one principal who passed away in the prior year were also memorialized.
AFTER A MEAL provided by Paul Green of Elsmore, the association conducted its annual meeting.
The 2026-27 officers are: Bill Otto, President; Judy Wilson, Vice-President; and Janice Fewins Rake, Secretary/Treasurer. Following the meeting, the group looked back at activities important during high school years — driving, dating, dancing, listening to music, and watching television. The group also took a true/false test on Elsmore in the 1960s.
