Prior to the Prairie Rose 4-H Club meeting, members helped clean out the church basement from the rummage sale that was held by the church. The monthly meeting was called to order on Sunday, Oct. 12, at Moran United Methodist Church. Roll call was: Guess the weight of the pumpkin/squash. Kylee Resco won with the closest guess. The weight of the pumpkin/squash was 14.2 pounds.

Club leaders talked about enrolling in 4-H. Members must be enrolled by Dec. 1. During the holiday season, members voted to ring the Salvation Army Bell at Walmart and to do Wreaths Across America at the Fort Scott National Cemetery.

Harper Gabbert led the club in singing “Old MacDonald,” but it was a Halloween edition. Lucas Owens and Henry Gabbert led the club in a game of Halloween charades.

During the program, Kylar and Kason Botts gave talks on pumpkin/squash and entomology. The club adjourned the meeting by saying the 4-H motto.
