The ceremony was held in the gardens of Liongate Manor, the groom’s family home, in Pasadena. Officiating was Andrew Nay, a friend of the couple.
To honor her Kansas roots, a string quartet played “Over the Rainbow” as the bride’s father walked her down the aisle.
Eileen wore a Maggie Sottero gown of Mikado fabric, featuring a pleated bodice and keyhole detail, sweetheart neckline, and off-shoulder cap sleeves. She wore a chapel-length floral-embroidered veil.
Following tradition, for something old she wore a ring that had belonged to her great-grandmother, Leora Schmaus. Her necklace and earrings were borrowed from Heather Lenkin, a friend of the groom’s family.

Attending the groom were best man, Christopher Hasbrouck, and groomsmen Franklin Bigelow and Raymond Ting. They wore Black Watch kilts.
Clayton Stockton-Myers, friend of the bride, provided a reading. Vocalist Christin Byrdsong, friend of the bride, sang “I See the Light” as the couple participated in a Scottish handfasting ceremony, an ancient Celtic tradition that is the origin of the phrase “tying the knot.”
Guests were greeted with a display of wedding dresses worn by the bride’s mother Jacki Chase, grandmother Donna Talkington, and great-grandmother, Leora Schmaus. Following cocktails, a bagpiper playing “Scotland the Brave” escorted the couple to the garden reception. Dinner and dancing followed. The wedding cake was made by Taleen Kennedy, friend of the bride.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Pasadena on Oct. 10 and a Farewell Mexican Fiesta Brunch at Liongate Manor on Oct. 12.
