Arrests reported

Iola police officers arrested Alexander Brownrigg Wednesday for suspicion of driving while intoxicated and transporting an open container of alcohol. Passenger Devin Wilson-Wing also was cited for suspicion of transporting an open alcohol container.

On Sept. 8, Marshall Jensen was arrested by Iola police in the 900 block of East Madison Avenue for suspected possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, and violating a protection order.

On Sept. 2, Joe A. Stevens III was taken into custody for suspicion of domestic battery following an incident two miles northeast of Elsmore, deputies said. After asking to speak to deputies on an unrelated matter Sept. 3, Aimee M. Stevens, 40, was arrested on a failure-to-appear warrant to face charges of possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended.

Motorcycle rider hurt

Gregory Brown, who was riding a motorcycle, was attempting to pass a car driven by Morgan Northcutt on U.S. 54 in rural Allen County Sept. 7, when the car, driven by Morgan Northcutt, attempted to turn onto 4600 Street, striking the motorcycle.

Brown, who was wearing a helmet, was transported by ambulance to Allen County Regional Hospital. Northcutt was not injured.

Cow shot, killed

Dalton Weatherbie told Allen County sheriff’s deputies Sept. 7 that a cow, valued at $5,000, was shot and killed in a pasture five miles north of LaHarpe. Two suspects were identified, deputies said.

Charges requested

Allen County sheriff’s deputies reported sending information to the county attorney’s office Sept. 4, alleging a suspect violated the Registered Offender Act.

Cattle struck

Leslie McGhee told deputies Sept. 3 that he struck several black cows that were in the road a mile south of Moran. Two of the animals were killed and another was injured. McGhee, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.

Deer-related crashes reported

Hannah Herfurth told Allen County sheriff’s deputies Thursday she swerved to miss three deer in the roadway on Idaho Road, about three miles northeast of LaHarpe. Her vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a ditch.

On Wednesday, Loy Galloway was driving on 2400 Street, about seven miles southeast of LaHarpe, when he struck a deer.
