Arrests reported

Allen County sheriff’s deputies arrested Vernon S. Darnell, 47, Iola, Saturday for suspicion of failing to register as an offender (two or more counts).

Jonathan A. Lushbough, 46, Iola, was arrested Thursday in the 100 block of East Street for a warrant alleging theft, deputies said.

Iola police officers arrested Heaven Wagner for suspicion of child abuse Thursday in the 200 block of North Kentucky Street.

Iola officers arrested Isaiah Sinclair for suspicion of driving a vehicle without a valid license and no insurance Aug. 27 in the 700 block of North State Street.

Deputies arrested Kevin S. Elam, 53, Richardson, Texas, on Aug. 26, for a warrant alleging failure to appear on charges of reckless driving, fleeing or eluding law enforcement, possessing a controlled substance and possessing drug paraphernalia.

During a traffic stop Aug. 24 in the 1700 block of East Street, Iola police officers arrested Justin Gomez for suspicion of fleeing and eluding law enforcement, driving while suspended, transporting an open container of alcohol, possessing methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, transporting an open container of alcohol, driving a vehicle without a required ignition interlock device, violating the registration offender act, no liability insurance, and a defective tail lamp.

Brandi N. Willard, 45, LaHarpe, was arrested Aug. 23 during a traffic stop south of Moran on U.S. 59 for a probation revocation warrant.

Deputies arrested David  C. Preston, 41, Kincaid, during a traffic stop near Mildred on U.S. 59 Aug. 22 for suspicion of driving while intoxicated, transporting an open container of alcohol and driving while suspended.

Roderick M. Hines, 30, Olathe, was arrested Aug. 22 for a warrant alleging failure to appear on charge of possessing a controlled substance and no proof of liability insurance.

Iola officers arrested Paul Porter for suspicion of battery Aug. 19 after an incident was reported in the 200 block of North Elm Street.

A traffic stop Aug. 18 in the 300 block of South First Street led to the arrest of Aimee Stevens for suspicion of possessing methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving while suspended (second offense). Afterward, Iola police officers obtained a search warrant, where Dennis Bryan and Mary Sirota were arrested for suspected possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Officers arrested Scott Perry, 54, Iola, for a Shawnee County warrant Aug. 18 during a traffic stop in the 500 block of North Second Street.

Deputies arrested Timothy J. White, 45, Humboldt for suspicion of driving while intoxicated (second or greater offense), transporting an open container of alcohol and no proof of liability insurance Aug. 16, after motorists reported spotted his vehicle driving erratically on U.S. 169.

Scam reported

An unidentified Allen County resident has been scammed out of $13,000, deputies were told Aug. 20, involving Bitcoin. The incident ended in Butler County, after a convenience store clerk contacted the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, who in turn contacted Allen County officials.
