Angie Rourk and Bri Mueller gave the program “Listen to Yourself,” for the April 3 meeting of the Allen County Area Retired School Personnel. There were 27 members in attendance.

The duo encouraged members to seek preventive services to ensure good health, including tests and treatments to prevent illnesses before they cause symptoms or problems.

To help doctors and patients decide together if a preventive service is right for a person’s needs, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force develops recommendations based scientific evidence.

Members approved Paul Upshaw to serve an additional year as president in order to give John Sheehan a year to serve as the new vice president and Sharon Grisier continue to serve as treasurer.  Ellie Walburn was elected to serve as secretary.

Don Bain encouraged members to contact their local legislators to endorse bills protecting retirement benefits.

The next meeting is at 12:30 p.m., May 1 at Allen County Regional Hospital.
