HUMBOLDT — Strains of music will fill Humboldt’s downtown square Saturday afternoon from 3 to 5 to support the Humboldt Ministerial Alliance’s food pantry.

Brenda Clark will sing gospel and country songs while Judy Parham will perform jazz and stage hits on keyboard. They will come together for two numbers.

Those attending should bring lawn chairs, there being limited seating in the park.

The pantry is always in need of nonperishable food items. Current shortages are powdered milk, sugar-free items, bread, eggs, boxed dinners and cereals.

Financial donations are welcome to keep ample supplies of meat and milk and other dairy items.

Food is distributed on Tuesday evenings, with an average of 25 families — 40 isn’t unusual — taking advantage. Feeding America, a nationwide organization, also provides food on some Fridays.

The pantry is an adjunct of the Humboldt Senior Center, 718 Bridge St.
