The Allen Community College band and choir will provide a free concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at the ACC fish pond.
Instructor Ted Clous has billed the performance as the college’s “randomly, inconveniently placed concert.”
“That was the name the students and I had come up with,” Clous said with a laugh. “The administration wasn’t as thrilled about the name. It’s just going to be a fun atmosphere. It’s not our last spring concert, but we wanted to do one about midway through the semester.”
The band will perform a number of classical pieces, with the musicians dressed in appropriate garb, down to powdered wigs.
The choir students will feature an homage to doo-wop songs, with such standards as “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” and “Stand By Me.”
Cookies and punch will be served.
