LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) Its an early sunflower season in the Sunflower State.
The Lawrence Journal-World reports that sunflowers are blooming a couple of weeks early in parts of Kansas. Hunsinger Farms Sunflower Patch owner George Hunsinger blames strange weather. He says Labor Day weekend is typically prime bloom time.
The town of Tonganoxie is hosting its second annual Sunflower Stroll on Labor Day weekend, with arts, crafts, a fun run and other activities.
