Courthouse smokers to be cast farther out

Starting July 1, cigarette smokers working in the Allen County Courthouse and other public buildings won’t be able to duck just outside a door to smoke. County Counselor Alan Weber told commissioners Tuesday morning that the Kansas smoking ban will prohibit smoking within 10 feet of a public building’s entrance.
Smoking has been banned in the courthouse since the early 1990s.
