The Crist Family, considered by many as one of the fastest rising family groups in the gospel music industry, will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Bowlus Fine Arts Center.
The concert is sponsored by the Southeast Kansas Christian Arist Series.
Forty years separate the oldest and youngest of the seven members. Their music will feature a number of ensemble singing duets, trios, quartets and a full ensemble in four-, five- and six-part harmonies.
They promise entertainment for all ages.
The group’s origins date to Seattle, Wash., in 1987, as part of a family ministry.
They cited “divine intervention” — God called them to do a higher level of service — and pulled up stakes and moved to Knoxville, Tenn., in 2004.
They already have performed and ministered in 28 states and Canada. By 2007, they were invited onto the main stage at the National Quartet Convention.
By 2009, the Crist Family was voted as Singing News Fan Awards’ Horizon Group of the Year.
Advance tickets for Sunday’s show are available for $15 for orchestra seating and $12 in the balcony by calling Dee Singer at 365-7496. Tickets also willl be sold at the door for $18 and $15, respectively.
Doors open at 2 p.m.
