Former local wanted in stabbing

Harvey L. Burris Jr., formerly of Iola and Neosho Falls, is being sought in connection with a stabbing Saturday morning in Greenwood County.
The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Department said Harvey is among suspects believed involved in an incident in Madison, in which a stabbing victim was hospitalized.
A search warrant was executed at the property, at which time one of the individuals believed involved in the incident pulled up at the scene.
The individual, whose name has not been released, was taken into custody, as was a passenger for alleged drug offenses.
The victim’s identity was not released, nor was the victim’s condition made available.
Burris, also believed involved, was not located during the search, deputies said.

Burris has a criminal history in Allen County.
He was convicted in 2011 of battery of a law enforcement officer and criminal damage to property. In 2007, he was convicted of possessing illegal narcotics.
