Michael Lee Quintero, 30, Chanute, was killed in a traffic accident on U.S. 54 at the west edge of Iola shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the pickup truck Quintero was driving went left of center and collided with a highway transport driven by Joseph John Anders, 42, Newkirk, Okla.
Anders and a passenger in his vehicle, Rita Sue Anders, 39, Newkirk, were uninjured.
During the accident, the pickup truck went under the trailer.
Quintero was eastbound, Anders was driving west.
