Iola Elementary School’s fourth-grade classes hosted Iola police officers and firefighters Thursday, to mark the 24th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on New York and Washington.

The first responders spoke about their inspirations, and highlights from their jobs, and why they chose community service-oriented careers.
