Hospital director resigns, takes position at Wichita heart hospital

Joyce Heismeyer, chief executive officer of Allen County Hospital, announced her resignation effective Sept. 30.
Heismeyer has accepted a position at Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita, as its chief operating officer.
She and her husband, Fred, have been involved citizens including participation in Thrive Allen County, Relay for Life, the Alzheimer’s walk, Rotary Club, Iola Area Chamber of Commerce and the public schools.
Fred Heismeyer is an instructor at Allen County Community College.
During her tenure she has helped recruit doctors Rebecca Lohman and Eric Wolfe.
In a news release from HCA, the  Nashville, Tenn.-based hospital company which operates ACH, an interim manager is expected to be named in the near future.
