Legion commander to visit Iola

Jimmie Foster, national commander of the American Legion, will be
at the Iola American
Legion post at 2:15 p.m. Thursday for a reception with legionnaires, military veterans and community members.
Foster was born and raised in Oklahoma. He served in the Marines from 1973 to 1976 before re-enlisting in the Army, retiring in 1994.
Foster has been a legionnaire for the past 29 years and now lives in Anchorage, Alaska.
Iola is part of his five-day tour of Kansas to visit 21 American Legion posts across the state.
