A bridge spanning Elm Creek southwest of Moran will be replaced starting Oct. 13.
The Kansas Department of Transportation announced in a press release that Nebraska Road will be closed on both sides of the bridge, which lies just west of 3400 Street, about a half mile south and a shade more than three miles west of Moran.
The closure will last until next spring, according to KDOT.
The lead contractor on the $539,000 project is B&B Bridge Co. of St. Paul.
The aging bridge had reached the end of its useful life, according to the press release.
