Iola’s annual Easter candy hunt has a number of treats and activities for youngsters Saturday morning.
The hunt begins at 10 o’clock south of the Recreation Building at Iola’s Riverside Park, but youngsters are encouraged to show up at 9 a.m. for Kiwanis train rides and to take pictures with the Easter Bunny.
There are 24 golden tickets hidden throughout the park for special prizes as well.
The hunt is for youngsters 12 and under, and will begin at the sound of an emergency vehicle’s siren.
ALSO at 10 a.m. Saturday, the Humboldt Lions Club will host its 75th annual Easter Egg hunt at 10 a.m. on the downtown square. In case of inclement weather, the festivities will move to the old Humboldt High School gymnasium.
THE FUN shifts to LaHarpe at 11 o’clock for LaHarpe PRIDE’s annual Easter candy hunt at the City Park. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for photos, with special prizes inside some of the plastic eggs hidden throughout the park.
In case of rain, the hunt will be moved to City Hall.
Drawings for prizes for youngsters 12 and under will follow the hunt.
FOR those eager to get a jump on scoring some treats, the Mildred Store will host an Easter Egg hunt at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
