Kincaid Fair offers fun for everyone

The Kincaid Farmers Free Fair returns this week, with activities running Thursday through Saturday.

KINCAID — The Kincaid Farmers Free Fair, one of the region’s oldest, and still one of the largest, fall festivals will once again feature a schedule crammed with fun and games for folks of all ages.

The activities begin Thursday afternoon as participants enter exhibits and antique farm machinery.

A free bean feed sponsored by the City of Kincaid starts at 5 p.m., followed by a children’s cash grab at 6 and a pedal pull at 6:30.

Bounce houses will be set up Thursday and run through Saturday.

Doug Toon will offer up free music from 8 to 11 p.m. in front of Cricket’s Bar & Grill.

A petting zoo opens up at 4 p.m. Friday, at the same time a senior citizens turtle race launches in front of Landmark Bank.

A pie judging contest starts at 5 o’clock. Bingo games are slated for 7 o’clock at City Hall.

Also at 7 o’clock, goat roping hosted by Kobe Miller will start behind the Rockin’ Barker Salon.

Live music from Atomic Possum wraps up the day’s activities, starting at 8 p.m. in front of Cricket’s.

THE ACTION hits high gear bright and early Saturday.

A 5K fun run/walk departs at 8 a.m., with commercial, craft and small antique booths opening their goods at 8:30.

A horseshoe pitching contest begins at 9 o’clock.

The Kincaid Selma Church Dinner begins at 11.

A chicken and Ribs Backyard BBQ contest runs from noon to 12:30 p.m. (Registration for the contest is available starting Thursday as well.)

The parade runs at 1:30, followed by children’s games and turtle races.

A cornhole tournament opens at 3:30 p.m.
