MORAN — A number of fall staples will return for the 79th annual Moran Day celebration Saturday.
The celebration carries the theme “Rising Above” and kicks off bright and early with vendors setting up shop in the morning at the Moran City Park, with crafts, homemade items, face painting and plenty of food. A petting zoo will also be set up.
But before most head to the park, they’ll want to catch the happenings along the parade route, which starts in front of the high school.
At 10:45 a.m. is the annual chariot race, where teams race a passenger on a wheeled bed through downtown.
The parade immediately follows at 11 o’clock.
The scene then returns to the park for the rest of the day.
A merchants drawing starts at 3 p.m., where several local businesses and groups have donated prizes. Participants must be present to claim their prize.
A free bean feed, courtesy of Emprise Bank and Ferrelgas, starts at 4 o’clock. Diners are asked to bring their own table service.
The celebration is capped by a street dance, with music from Trevor Holman and the Haymakers from 6 to 10 p.m.
