A toy car collection 30-plus years in the making is up for grabs this month.

Bidding continues on more than 1,400 mint-condition toy cars — all still in their original packaging.

The collection includes an assortment of Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Racing Champions, Winners Circle and other brands.

The autos were given to Your Community Foundation by an anonymous donor who started the collection in 1993 and continued adding to it up to this year.

Bids are due by 11:45 p.m. Nov. 24.

The auction  — which will benefit the Allen County Animal Rescue Facility — is one of the centerpieces of Your Community Foundation’s Month of Giving Campaign, which essentially doubles the values of all donations received this month.

For every dollar donated to one of several funds, matching funds will be provided by the Patterson Foundation, up to $100,000.

Donations are lagging, however, noted Elaina Stiffler, YCF executive director in 2025.

As of Tuesday morning, the drive has netted $29,000, still well short of the $100,000 goal.

“We’re still obviously working very hard every day,” Stiffler said. “But if we don’t get a bit more in, we’re going to fall short.”

A COMMUNITY foundation can best be described as a permanent community savings account, supporting non-profit organizations of all shapes and sizes.

The Month of Giving Campaign, in fact, has several potential beneficiaries.

The aforementioned toy car auction goes in support of the Raymond C. McIntosh Memorial Fund, with all of those monies dedicated to supporting ACARF.
