Iola Rotarians got to know three new members a little better Thursday.
Connie Knight, Nathan Fawson and Matt Stuckey gave short biographical sketches.
Knight has worked the past year for Security First Title after many years in several phases of banking with local institutions. She and husband Paul, a Gates Corporation employee, live on a farm near Mildred.
Fawson is associate director of Southeast Kansas Mental Health Center.
He originally is from “the high plains of southern Utah,” and spent two years as a missionary in Austria for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Afterward, he earned a degree in psychology, worked for SEK Mental Health Center in the late 1990s, and then at a hospital in Branson, Mo., before “Bob (Chase, SEK MHC director) called and asked me to come back.”
He was a Rotarian previously and rejoined on his return.
Stuckey said he was “excited to be a part of Rotary and the things it does.”
Born and raised in Iola, Stuckey graduated from Iola High in 2000 and by age 19 was working as youth director at Wesley United Methodist Church, a position he still holds with assistance from Lori Cooper.
Stuckey is also employed at Community Living Opportunities as a home coach, where he helps clients with everyday activities. He also has worked with SAFE BASE.
