HUMBOLDT — A potential sales tax referendum for Humboldt voters to consider would be for only a quarter of a cent, Mayor Bob Sharp told the Register this morning.
The newspaper incorrectly reported in Tuesday’s edition that City Council members are considering asking for a one-cent sales tax hike.
A quarter-cent sales tax implemented to fund repairs to the Humboldt Municipal Pool generates about $36,000 annually.
Council members said Monday they want to consider the idea further before taking any proposal to the voters.
