Nineteen-year-old Shelby Yoho competed in the Make It With Wool Contest on Nov. 3 in Manhattan.
Shelby placed 4th in the senior division of the state contest. She constructed a navy blue wool coat with a double shawl collar, pockets, and red lining. She also made a vintage-style one-piece wraparound dress to go along with her wool coat.
Shelby was judged on the appropriateness of her garment, coordination of fabric with garment style and design, fit and overall appearance, her presentation, construction quality, creativity in design and use of the wool, and whether it conveys the beauty, comfort, and versatility of the wool.
Shelby is a freshman at Allen Community College, and is the daughter of Joe and Kim Schomaker.
Terri Kretzmeier assisted Shelby in making her garment.
