Ronald E. “Ron” Daniels, 68, Iola, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, at his home.
Ron was born Oct. 25, 1942, in Fort Scott, the only child of Chester E. and Fern V. (Anderson) Daniels. He grew up in the Savonburg and Elsmore areas. After high school, he received his bachelor’s degree in business from Emporia State University and returned to the farm.
On June 3, 1962, he married Vicki Lee Helman. They had four children and later divorced.
He made his home at Moran from 1999 until 2010 when he moved to Iola due to his health problems.
He married Frances Wilson on Dec. 30, 2001, in Iola. He worked in marketing and sales from 1996 to 2008, including working at Decorator’s Supply in Iola.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking.
His wife, Frances, survives of the home, as do four children, Alisa Reynolds and her husband, Darren, Independence, Tracy Greer and her husband, Joe, Yates Center, Brett and his wife, Mary, Savonburg, and Adam, Pleasanton; two stepdaughters, Crystal Hayden and her husband, Chris, Lincoln, Neb., and Stephanie Moyer, Eudora; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel in Iola, the Rev. Lloyd Houk officiating. Interment will be in Elsmore Cemetery.
