Alvin J. Knepp, 86, Richmond, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013.
He was born March 25, 1927, to Alvin L. and Wilma M. (Johnson) Knepp in LaHarpe.
Alvin was proud of his service in the Navy. He enjoyed woodworking, playing the piano, and working at Allen County Community College.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gerald Knepp; and a grandson, Casey Cobbs; his wife, Bernidene Knepp; daughters, Diane (Dr. Willard “Bud”) Ransom and Debra Holderman; stepchildren, Patricia (Travis) Smith, Jacqueline (Jeff) Gilliland, JoAnna Gehrer, Barbara (Bob) Andrews, and Richard (Kelly) Lira; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today at Lakeview Funeral Home, Wichita, with visitation occurring one hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care, 635 S. Main St., Ottawa, KS 66067.
