Anne Marie Kazmierczak, 52, former employee of The Iola Register, died March 11, 2016, in Missoula, Mont.

She was the loving mother of Jacob and Owen Bauch. Other survivors include her mother, Rita Kazmierczak; and three brothers, Jim, David, and Michael. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Kazmierczak.

Born and raised in Buffalo, N.Y., Anne attended SUNY Geneseo. She later graduated with a B.S. degree from the University of Montana in Missoula, after various jobs in New York and Montana, most notably on farms. While getting her degree, she worked for the Montana Riparian Association and thrived in riparian restoration sciences. She lived in Santa Fe, N.M., for a couple years before returning to Missoula, where she began her life as a mother. Later she returned to UM to obtain a degree in journalism, and worked as a newspaper reporter and photographer.

She volunteered with many civic programs in Missoula and also served as Missoula Councilman from 2002 to 2005. She later moved to Iola, Kan., to work as a reporter for the local paper, and she happily lived there for a few years before returning, again, to Missoula. Anne was amazing at gardening, writing (for which she earned many honors throughout her life), art, cooking and many other things. Most of all, she loved her sons, many friends and family deeply, had a beautiful spirit, an exuberance for life and a wonderful sense of humor and way of expressing herself.

Services were Friday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Missoula. Brothers Mortuary and Crematory were in charge of arrangements. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at brothersmortuary.com.
