Betty G. Mason, age 96, passed away at the home of her daughter on Sept. 15, 2025. Betty was born on Sept. 1, 1929, in Iola, the daughter of Teddy and Lula (Centlivre) Henegar. She grew up on the family farm, near Colony, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Donnie Henegar, Janice Henegar, and Bonnie (Henegar) Vincent; her son Thomas McIntyre; and her husbands, John and Budd.
Betty is survived by her sister, Linda Sweany; brother-in-law, Gene Vincent; and children, Tim (Becky) McIntyre, Kerry (Tom) Mohney, Anne (Lewis) Kamiri, and Martie (Don) Martin.
A memorial service will be held at Portage United Church of Christ in Portage, Mich., on Saturday, Nov. 1. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11 a.m. A reception will follow afterward.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Kalamazoo Garden Council or to Portage United Church of Christ’s support of Loaves and Fishes Weekend Food Packs.
