Beverly Marie Tomlinson, 85, Iola, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at her home.
She was born Jan. 16, 1930, in Troy, the daughter of Grover Franklin “Frank” and Maudie Marie (Denning) Wykert. She graduated from Troy High School. On Sept. 15, 1950, Beverly married Richard W. “Dick” Tomlinson. After Dick completed his military duty they lived in St. Joseph, Mo., from 1952 until 1969 and then in Rushville from 1969 until 1976. They moved to several communities before coming to Iola in 1980. Dick preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 2010.
Beverly enjoyed playing bridge and belonged to several bridge clubs. She was a member of First Christian Church, Harmony Society, Allen County Regional Hospital Volunteers and a volunteer at the Allen County Historical Society.
She is survived by three sons, Steven, Rio Verde, Ariz., Kevin, Bradenton, Fla., and Gary, Iola; a daughter, Lisa, Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Betty Lou Jeschke, St. Joseph, and Mary Frances Ratliff, San Diego; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a brother, Marion Wykert, and two sisters, Mona Lee Cozad and Georgia Gardner.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Iola. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service, from 1 to 3 o’clock.
Cremation will follow.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church.
