Melvin Lavern “Bud” Maley, 73, of Iola died Monday, June 21, 2010, at Windsor Place Nursing Center in Iola.
He was born Dec. 9, 1936, on the family farm three miles south of Gas, to Glenn C. and Florence A. (Crowell) Maley. He made his home with his parents and helped with the farm. After their deaths, he lived at the Townhouse until his health failed.
He is survived by two brothers, Jim and Jason, both of Iola; a sister, Winona English, Iola; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Dorothy Suffal Fulton and Linda Hulett, died earlier.
Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Highland Cemetery in Iola. Chaplain Lloyd Houk will officiate.
