Dale C. Marney, 79, of Humboldt, died Saturday at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.
He was born Nov. 19, 1932, in Rocky Comfort, Mo. He and Ava Jean Clifton were married March 16, 1952. They made their home in Kansas City until moving to Humboldt in 1974. They opened Marney’s Western Auto and operated it for 15 years. He retired from Gates Rubber Co. and continued to manage Humboldt Housing Authority.
He was a member of Humboldt United Methodist Church and the men’s club in the church. His greatest pleasure was his family.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ava Marney; four children, Debra Goddard of Kansas City, Mo., Karen Richardson of Kansas City, Kan., Alan Marney of Spring Hill, and Beth Marney of Kansas City, Mo., one brother and one sister; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. A service of celebration will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Humboldt United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the church.
