Darlene Yocham

Darlene Y. Yocham, 68, Iola, died Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Darlene was born May 17, 1944, in Iola, the daughter of Clifford R. and Zola B. (Selvidge) Potter. She married Donald R. Yocham Nov. 6, 1958 and they made their home in Iola. They lived in Westphalia from 1972 until 1985, when they returned to Iola. Donald died April 5, 2003.

Darlene’s life centered on her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Community Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Donald R. Yocham, Jr. and wife Donna, Chanute; two daughters, Donna Goodner and Danna Laymon and husband Kim, all of Iola; a sister, Carol Fowler, Eagle Point, Ore.; two grandchildren she raised, Joe Pilcher and Watonna Parker, five additional grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Britton Matthew Yocham; a great-grandson, Levi Bland; four brothers, Jerry, Joseph, Clifford and Richard Potter; and three sisters, Wanda Scheer, Janice Moore and Millie Prock.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Online condolences for the family may be left at www.iolafuneral.com.
