Eddie Lee Tanner, 70, of Blue Mound, passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, at his home. Eddie was born Jan. 30, 1955, to Lloyd M. Tanner and Kathryn I. (Rose) Tanner in Fort Scott.
Eddie attended Gas City Elementary School and graduated from Iola High School in 1973. Eddie worked for several companies over the years, primarily in construction. He retired from the Gates Corporation in 2017.
Eddie was a free spirit and lived life on his own terms.
He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Larry.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Norma Tanner; brother Rick and his wife Carla; sisters Sharon Mazzoni and Susan Cook; stepsons Doug Lieurance, Jr. and wife Jeri, and Shawn McCulley, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Schneider Funeral Home & Cremations, Mound City Chapel, Mound City, KS.
