Ellen Louise Whitcomb, born in Earlton, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, in Springfield, Mo.
She was the daughter of Verne and Julia Wilson, Chanute.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Kenneth Wilson and a great-grandson.
Survivors include Linda C. Whitcomb, of the home; LeeRoy Whitcomb, Bronson, Janice Burnett, Ottawa, Bob Whitcomb, Fayetteville, Ark.; sisters, Evelyn Hiegler, Augusta, Norma McCulley, Iola; brother, Harold Wilson, Pratteville, Ala.; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In previous years, she enjoyed gardening, traveling with her concession trailer and selling home interiors.
She spent most of her life in Iola, and was active in the Baptist Church. She then transferred to Springfield with her daughter, Linda Whitcomb.
Friends and family will meet for a celebration of her life dinner at noon Monday.
