Ernest Paul Blazek, 67, Iola, formerly of Dodge City, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at Fort Scott Mercy Health Center. He was born on Oct. 30, 1948, in Great Bend, the son of Ernest Henry and Evelyn Wood Blazek.
He married Carol Jeannie Kennedy on May 3, 1968. Paul was an Army veteran serving his country during the Vietnam War. He worked as a maintenance manager for the Fort Dodge Soldiers Home.
He was preceded in death by his wife Carol on Oct. 20, 2014; and his parents.
He is survived by two sons, Lant and Tracy Blazek; a daughter, Teresa Blazek; three sisters, Ruth Steffens, Patricia Griffith and Sheryl Degenhardt; and seven grandchildren.
Per Paul’s wishes, cremation has taken place. He will be inurned at Fort Dodge at a later date during a private family gathering.
