Gerald Keith Zink Sr., 77, Spring Hill, passed away Jan. 13, 2013, at Olathe Medical Center.

Gerald was born Dec. 31, 1935, in LaHarpe, to Burt and Mable (Wingler) Zink. He was a graduate of LaHarpe High School.
Gerald married Velma Joan Hoddy on March 4, 1956, in Iola. They lived in Stillwater, Okla., and moved to Spring Hill in 1974. He served in the Kansas National Guard for eight years. Gerald was a heavy equipment mechanic for Holiday Sand and Gravel in Bonner Springs, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Engineers Local No. 101 in KCMO and the Olathe American Legion. He enjoyed anything John Deere. He will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Betty Netherly and Duane D. Zink.
Gerald is survived by his wife Velma; son Gerald K. Zink Jr. and wife Sheri, Georgia, and Burt W. Zink and wife Tammie, Gardner; brother Larry Zink, Texas; six grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
