Former Iola area resident Gladine L. Lisher Roe, 97, of Perry died Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at her son’s home in Perry.
She was born Feb. 28, 1913, in Brookfield, Mo., to Dempsey and Nola Sanders Lisher. She attended school in Brookfield and was a 1931 graduate of Pershing High School in Brookfield. She had lived in Perry since 1971.
On Dec. 24, 1932, she married the Rev. Lyle B. Roe in Brookfield. He died Feb. 8, 1998. She was a homemaker, taught Sunday school and assisted her husband as he served as pastor in the United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Ronald, Perry; two daughters, Donna Ketcher, Spring Hill, and Joyce Rutherford, Perry; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
An infant son, Richard Lyle, and a grandson, Johnny Rutherford, died earlier.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Perry United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Underwood Cemetery in Williamstown.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Perry United Methodist Church.
