Zelma Maxine “Jeri” Tasche, 86, died Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at Diversicare of Chanute.
Jeri was born Aug. 23, 1929, in Mound City, one of 10 children born to Leonard Franklin and Addie Blanche (Osborne) Murrow. She grew up in the Blue Mound and Mound City areas. She made her home in Iola most of her adult life except for a few years when she lived in Chanute. Her memberships include Community Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, both in Iola.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheryl Koester and husband Gene, Chanute; three grandsons, Bill Koester and wife Robyn, Wellsville, Shawn Koester and wife Denise and Clinton Koester, all of Chanute; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her nine siblings.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be left with the funeral home. To leave a condolence, go to www.iolafuneral.com.
