John Stanley “Stan” Howard of Owasso, Okla., died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, at the age of 68.
He was born Feb. 14, 1943, in Columbus, to John and Letha May (Roberts) Howard. He was raised and received his education there, graduating from Columbus High School.
He worked as a trucker and lived in Gas and Iola before moving to Tulsa, Okla., in 1984. He had made his home in Owasso for the past several years. He enjoyed going to the lake with his family, antique shopping and sponsoring and attending his son’s motor-cross events.
He is survived by his longtime friend and companion, Clara, of the home; his children, Kenny Howard and Donna of Owasso, Kelly Sigg and Steve of Iola, Kim Howard of Kansas City, Mo., Karen Jackson of Wichita, Susan Perigo and Scott of Collinsville, Okla., Bobby Carson and Sheila of Owasso, and Nicole Doss and Steve of Collinsville; 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and his dog, Prissy.
A brother, sister, and his dog of 13 years, Sampson, died earlier.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mowery Funeral Service Chapel, 9110 N. Garnett Rd., Owasso, with the Rev. Jeff Wren officiating. Burial will be in Sandrldge Cemetery in Collinsville.
