John Douglas Laver, 57, a longtime resident of Azle, Texas, passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013.
John was a caring and loving man who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Verna and Merle E. Laver, Sr., Humboldt.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years Linda; his two children, Christopher Laver, Newark, N.J., Randy and Felicia Laver, Azle; three brothers and two sisters, Fritz Laver, Chanute, Randy and Laura Laver, Wichita, Jeff Laver, Bonner Springs, Darla and Tony Sanchez, Humboldt, Jennifer McConnell, Chanute; and his four beautiful grandchildren, Caliandra, Danny, Gabriel, and Laylah.
Services are at 3 p.m. Friday at Biggers Funeral Chapel. Committal is at 1 p.m. Sunday at DeWitt Cemetery near Humboldt. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorials be made to the Western Star Cowboy Church, 790 C.R. 3693, Paradise, Texas 76073 to help build its long-awaited arena.
