Owen Keith Doughty, 85, Moran, passed away Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014 at Allen County Regional Hospital.
He was born March 29, 1929, the son of Lyle Hesson and Oral (Holeman) Doughty. Doughty graduated from Moran High School in 1947. After graduation, he began farming with his father. Keith worked construction with soil conservation building ponds and terraces in Allen County. After retiring from construction work in 1970, he did mechanical work out of his shop, working on vehicles and farm equipment.
Keith married Barbara Ervin on Aug. 27, 1950 in Moran. This union was blessed with three children.
Keith was a previous member of the Elks Lodge of Iola. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and loved his Labrador dogs. Keith also enjoyed camping, boating, skiing and especially mushroom hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Oral Doughty; his wife, Barbara Doughty in February 2005; an infant brother; and one grandson, Western Juket Doughty.
Keith is survived by his children, Mark Doughty, Todd Doughty and wife, Sonya, all of Moran; Vickie Brownback and husband, Jim, Parker; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, Moran. Memorial contributions may be made to the Keith Doughty Memorial Fund.
