Nicholas “Nick” Charles Grzybowski Sr., 61, of Humboldt died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.
He was born January 22, 1949, in Hillsboro, to Stanley and Madelyn (Neustrom) Grzybowski. He graduated from Herrington High School in 1967.
He served in the U.S. Army 34th Engineering Battalion in Vietnam.
On Nov. 25, 1978, he married Laura Manwiller in Miami, Okla.
He was a foreman for Hamm Quarries. He was a member of Greenwood Lodge No. 163 in Fall River. He liked welding, carpentry and his dogs.
He is survived by his wife of the home; three sons, Steven Olson and his wife, Tomiko, Nixa, Mo., Richard Grzybowski and his wife, Valerie, and Nicholas Grzybowski Jr. and his wife, Korenne, Humboldt; grandchildren, June and Ryan, Nixa, and Logan, Kailey, Jacob, Shelby and Truman, Humboldt; a brother, James May, Washington; and a sister, Martha Hykel, Des Moines, Wash.
A sister, Michelle May, died earlier.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Humboldt Chapel.
