Norman D. Wade, 81, of Gas died Saturday, June 12, 2010,  at Windsor Place in Iola.
He was born Jan. 21, 1929, in Pleasanton to Ray V. and Letha Hensley Wade. He grew up in LaCygne and had several businesses there, the last of which was Norel Homes Company, begun in 1970.
On June 26, 1948, he married Evelyn L. Miller. He was baptized into Calvary Baptist Church. 
He moved to Gas in 1982 and continued selling modular and manufactured homes until his retirement in 2004 from health problems resulting from a stroke in 2002.
He is survived by his wife of the home; two sons and one daughter, Kevin and his wife, Daleine, Anderson, S.C., Mark and his wife, Jenise, Iola, and Roxanne Martin and her husband, David, Kansas City; daughter-in-law, Vicki Wade, Abilene; 14 grandchildren, Kevin E. Wade and his wife, Amy, Eudora, Katy Wade, Abilene, Stephanie Brougher and her husband, Jeremy, Johnstown, Pa., Danae Sellers and her husband, Nathan, Jenna and Caleb Wade, Anderson, Griffin Martin and his wife, Rebekah, Kansas City, Mo., Lacey, Abby, Tanner, Thatcher and Molly Martin, Kansas City, and Garrett and Sydney Wade, Iola; four great-granddaughters; four brothers, Paul and his wife, Edith, Roy and his wife, Della, and Richard and his wife, Jane, all of LaCygne, and Ivan and his wife, Barbara, Overland Park; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A son, Greg, sister, Elsie Patterson, and three brothers, George W., Vernon and his wife, Elsie, and Carl and his wife, Helen, died earlier.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home in LaCygne. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery in LaCygne.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
