Patricia Powell, 68, of Colony died Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence.
She was born on May 10, 1941, in Galva, to William Eugene and Elizabeth (Johnson) Murray. She grew up in the Mankato area, graduating from high school there. 
On Aug. 27, 1958, she married Jim Powell in Mankato. She was working as a waitress when she met her husband. 
She later worked as a bookkeeper. She and her husband owned and operated Family Treasures and Antiques in Iola. She had also been a foster parent to a number of children. She was a member of Wesleyan Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, crocheting, playing the piano and organ and was talented with crafts.
She is survived by her husband of the home; a son, Jim Jr. and his companion, Sandy Hardy, Moran; a daughter, Debra Suchy and her husband, Steven, Iola; two sisters, Elaine Thomas, Mankato, and Terry Standley and her husband, Jim, Augusta; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Colony. Inurnment will follow in Colony Cemetery. 
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday  at the funeral home in Colony.
