Marcella M. “Sally” Peet, 85, of Emporia died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at Flint Hills Care Center in Emporia.
She was born May 29, 1925, in Olpe, to John and Catherine (Resenader) Aufleger.
On April 9, 1949, she married Willis G. Peet in Kansas City, Mo. He died Sept. 20 1996.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia. She had worked at Broadview Fountain Room at the Broadview Hotel, Polly Ann Restaurant and Longhorn Restaurant. Together with her late husband, she formerly owned and operated the Lariet Lounge and Hobo Inn. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, Robert “Bob,” Emporia; daughter, Vickie M. Graves, Iola; brother, Paul Aufleger, Emporia; five grandchildren, Stacie Graves, Denver, Colo., Clinton Michael Peet, Emporia, Bobbi Kelley, Garnett, Jack Phillip Graves, San Diego, Calif., and Anita Graves, Kansas City, Mo.; and nine great-grandchildren.
Eight brothers and sisters died earlier.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia. The Rev. Richard Warsnak will officiate. Interment will be in the Lincoln Cemetery in Lebo.
A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Visitation will follow the prayer service until 8:30 p.m.
