Virginia “Gini” Lee (Lamb) Nystrom, 86, Topeka, passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2016 at Midland Hospice House. Virginia was born Dec. 19, 1929 in Elsmore, the daughter of Otho Lamb and Louise Proehl Lamb. She married Dr. Curtis A. Nystrom on Aug. 14, 1949 in Elsmore. He preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1983.
Virginia helped found and served for several years as president of the Topeka Women’s Aglow Fellowship and later was appointed as Women’s Aglow Northeast Area vice president, regional director and advisor for the Girls and Teen Aglow. She attended Topeka First Assembly of God and New Life Church, Women’s Connection and Bible Study Fellowship.
She is survived by her children, Kirk Nystrom (Karen) of Topeka, Valerie Nystrom Paine (Fred) of Goodyear, Ariz., Rocky Nystrom (LuAnn) of Lawrence; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Topeka First Assembly of God Chapel. She will lie in state from noon to 5 p.m. today at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Elsmore Cemetery at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission or Global Missions (Haiti Relief) and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. davidsonfuneral.com.
