Walter Otis Lockart, 89, of Tulsa, Okla., died Thursday, July 14, 2011, at his home.
He was born Dec. 2, 1921, in rural Carlyle to Elsworth and Hallie Banks Lockart. He had nine brothers and sisters.
He served in the U.S. Army in Japan during the Korean War. He worked for Douglas Aircraft in Tulsa. He enjoyed hunting, writing and performing music.
He is survived by a brother, Bill, Lindsborg; a niece, Linda McDermeit, Iola; two great-nephews, Tim and Pat McDermeit; and three great-nieces, Lauren, Hallie and Madelynn McDermeit, Gas.
The body has been cremated. Burial will be in the Colony Cemetery at a later date.
