Letter to the editor – January 12, 2022

Dear editor,

Today at 5 p.m. will be my last day at Quality Automotive Services, Inc.

The feeling is bittersweet and so many memories are there. It had been a good life and business for John and me.

He always wanted me to retire at 62 so we could go travel. I hope to still do that but with him in spirit.

Robert Cook now owns the business and I have every confidence that he will do as well or better than John and I did.

It’s a chapter that is closed in the story of life.

I’ve waited until the last moment to tell people of my decision because I didn’t know how I’d be able to handle telling customers. It’s been hard enough just telling the guys who work at the shop.

My throat already has a lump in it.

I look forward to new adventures with friends and family and some remodeling projects in the near future.

I thank all the customers who came to our shop, spread the word and help make the business that it is today.

Alzina Kress,

Iola, Kan.
