A U.S. district judge sentenced Thomas Blubaugh to 46 months in prison for his part in the $2 million ticket scalping scandal at the University of Kansas.
The Kansas public won’t have much sympathy for those punished for the thefts in-volved. But the headlines will remind some that the big bankers and financiers whose monumental greed and indifference to the public welfare pushed the country and much of Europe into the Great Recession not only are still walking the streets free but also have received bonuses these past two years as their manipulations are again making billions in profits without adding a jot or a tittle to the world’s goods.
Something is way out of balance in this tableau.
